Make sure you go with a guide otherwise this area wont make sense. The towers of these stables have mixed architecture - the main big centre stable was that of the king which has a very traditional hi...  more »

At the architectural level is best of Hampi, the better care and more aesthetic. This is not to say that it is the most spectacular. There are places in Hampi, that if those willing to sweat a little, can give you an incredible views. The stables with spectacular dimensions that have and by the environment in which are found. A small green oasis.

Elephant stable is one of the highlight of Hampi, the place is very well maintained. Elephant stable is house to the elephants n each house is big enough n contains a dome which has excellent architecture. There is a entrance fee for this but it's totally worth.

Well maintained place. Green and peaceful. There is an entry fee but worth it.

This is no ordinary stable. The architecture is really good. Each compartment has a dome with a different shape and design. That is quite remarkable considering it houses elephants and not people. The lawn adjacent is well maintained too.

Nice world heritage place. Worth visiting

Once used to park the royal elephants, now seemingly under the World Heritage Signs is a wonderful place to see around in the whole world. The monument depicts the Grand the Indian Kings have used and still the Indians are used to.

Where to stay in Hampi

You'll find a number of simple guesthouses and homestays located in Hampi itself, primarily in the Hampi Bazaar district. North and south of the river, they offer comfortable rooms in modest former residential buildings. Further afield, a selection of more upmarket resorts and hotels sit on the banks of the river and the nearby lake to the northwest. Many visitors choose to stay in Hosapete, to the southwest, or the small town of Kamalapur, located just south of Hampi. Both offer a greater range of accommodations than Hampi, including hotels, resorts, and hostels.
