  • Sufi saint Mohammed Ghaus's monumental tomb was built by Akbar and is a massive sandstone structure with rising towers on the four corners, crowned by cupolas and a huge central dome. The outer walls are made of exquisite cut stone grilles. Tansen's mausoleum (tomb) is simple and mostly unadorned tucked away in a mausoleum complex. Tansen was born Hindu and started his music training under Swami Haridas but later came under the spiritual influence of Ghaus. Outside Tansen's tomb is a neem tree whose leaves he is alleged to have eaten regularly to make his voice more melodious. It is a must visit. The priest there will ask you to pay your respects with money which is purely optional and need not have to pay.
