  • Guwahati was known as Pragyajyotishpur or centre of Astrology in the past. Navagraha temple was a centre of Atstronomy over Chitranchal Hill, east of Guwahati in Udan Bazar area near Brahmaputra River. Enshrined in this temple are nine Shiva-lings, representing the nine Celestial bodies, each covered with a colored garment symbolic of each of the celestial bodies, with a Shivaligam in the centre symbolising the Sun. Rajeswar Singha in 1752 made orgininal temple which got demolished in 1897 earthquake. New temple and approach road has been constructed recently. It is a crowded temple for people coming for there planetary cleaning.
  • Navagraha Temple is one of the famous Hindu Temple of Guwati in which daily 9 Graha has been worshiped.
  • simply wonderful. the temple is dedicated to all the nine planets in the solar system, each represented by a shiv ling. the view of the city from here is stunning in the evening. have ample space for a car park.
  • The temple of nine planets, it's nice serene, well the temple monkeys are a nuisance, be careful
  • One of the oldest shrine in the region, do visit to have a glimpse of old Kamarupa
