  • Largest Zoo in entire North East India. The Zoo is very large in area and has hill slop too inside the Zoo. Electric car service are there inside with extra ticket for the electric car .The Zoo is not well maintained part from few cage are well maintained .Reptile house is horrible ,how the snake are kept in small glass cage .Tiger and Lion are cage are good to attract public .They sud keep Indian Rhino instead of African Rhino inside the Zoo . It has great future by maintaining proper way . Some area like Birds and crocodile cage are just near the road on the side and vehicle sounds are easily heard inside the Zoo area is not good for the birds and crocodile. It's good option for domestic traveller rather then international tourist because facilities are not in standard for international tourist .Zoo closed every Friday .
  • It's good place to visit . You can visit 6 days of a week , not only on Sunday. Though it's heritage is decreasing gradually but it's good for them who have never visited the zoo. There are lot of animals and plants which you can't see in free environment. You will unable to find giraffes, zebra and some other animals which do not live without their natural habitat. Except these kind little bit things all the other side of Assam state zoo are good . I liked it.
  • Good place for visit and fun. It is not a very high end zoo but it is good enough to visit. Children would love to see the animals. The botanical garden is a great place full of greenery. Recomended for visit with both family and friends.
  • Only zoo in the state of Assam. Lacks many amenities and some important species but lively place for the downtrodden at a very less expensive ticket price for entry. Battery operated passenger vehicle are the latest addition to the zoo. The first place for any kid from the North East to experience caged animals of Africa and the world over.
  • Variety of animals not as good as before. However, it being a forest the natural ambience is good. Signage can be better with souvenier shops and more varied up to date displays and things to do
