Owned and managed by a nearby Hindu temple staff, these elephants take part in various religious festivities, and they are also adorned and lent to other temples. Walk amidst these giant animals through this 4.6 hectares (11.5 acres) of coconut grove and watch them feed and bathe. See baby elephant and very old ones, including some over 80 years of age, and learn their names. A number of them are tied to a concrete stump, especially those in must. • Guruvayoor Temple trust maintains Elephants. good place to visit, where around 45 to 50 Elephants are in open space and we can go inside kotta to get rare experience of being with elephants. Photography and video is not allowed.
  • These elephants are chained, not free. And beaten severely, there is video to support this. Do not support this facility. It's not a sanctuary but a hell!!!
  • This is the Elephant sanctuary in Guruvayur. To get here, just tell any auto driver Aanakotta (Elephant City). There is a ticket entrance charge. Many elephants are located here. When visiting, try not to use flash on the camera because sometimes that might irritate the elephants. And keep a distance for respect. Elephants sometimes may have a bad temper. Well recommended to visit.
  • Great place to see different elephants. Its wonderful to see the relation between elephants and their care takers. Been there with friends and family.vast and nice place, can spend quality time to understand elephants and their behavior. Appreciate Kerala government for such care towards elephants. enough private space for each elephant. They are provided with clean water, food and shelter. Have spent more than an hour in the premise.
  • Good place to visit for children. Very strict now , no pic, no touching due to complaints by so called animal lovers. I think the elephants are better here, compared to small private owners/ pòor zoo / open village jungles. They are clean, well fed, respected. How much a tiny guy can torture an elephant this size? Keeping them in order is no easy task.
