  • "elephant training camp" consists of a surprisingly small area with surprisingly many elephants. The elephants are chained, some not only on one, but on two feet. Two elephant cows in narrow cages where they hardly could turn around, and were additionally chained. I felt the overall situation was pretty depressing. A bull elephant was two men washed and scrubbed off, what he has clearly enjoyed. That was the only bright spot. It was also fascinating to observe the many Indian pilgrims.
