Where to stay in Gokarna

Close to the temples of Gokarna lie a number of guesthouses and simple hotels, most dating back to when the town was solely a place of pilgrimage. Look to the coast for the accommodations more popular with international visitors. By the main beaches, choose from speciality boutique lodgings offering yoga and meditation facilities, a selection of rustic eco-lodges, and some larger resorts with pools. A couple of campgrounds provide a memorable experience for outdoor adventurers.

  • This Place needs more care! Inside area of the Fort is locked! I have visited this place twice it was same situation both the times! More preventive measures, securities, and little make over will surely attract More tourists!! There is need for secured parking facility! Much more attention is needed altogether! But the Fort looks awesome in the rainy season!
  • Good place and amazing architecture.. The mosses on the walls of this fort makes it even more beautiful.. must visit...
  • very nice Historical place near Kumta. View from the top of the fort is awesome. Its not maintained well. Road facility to reach the fort is good. Very near to highway. But climate will be very hot n dry from February to May. Many walls have been damaged yet we can see the essence of history. Tourists may come here for a quick visit as its very near from highway.
  • Nice historical place. Fort is very big. Often movie shooting takes place here.
  • The fort is well maintained and taken care of. Many old (hidden entrances) are being opened up for public.
