  • Its beautiful when it's green after the rains. Amazing place, not too littered and few visitors. Good place for photo fanatics.
  • This is a first fort I have seen which is so clean and well maintained. This place is a must visit. When you are in Gokarna. You will just keep admiring the fort.
  • I like this place because the entire fort would be for me! There is absolutely no other visitor. It is not a famous fort, but it's such a nice fort, such a nice place, I wonder why people are in so great a hurry to zip-by on the nearby Mumbai-Kochi National Highway! There is a flag pole, where our National Flag is now hoisted on certain occasions, the fort has a moat, where it once used to be filled with water and oil, sometimes lit up with fire so that the enemies couldn't easily attack the fort. The size of the fort may be as big as the Red Fort, though it is empty of artifacts. I love the structure, the architecture, the greenery, the photo opportunities... Unfortunately, my camera batteries were down to capture the dramatic outlines after a long trip to Goa. Mirjan Fort is a must visit for people travelling through North-West Karnataka. If you're alone with your girl, you become the King and the Queen of the Palace, until the next visitor arrives, which maybe after 3-4 hours! :) Just pay the gate-keeper 10 bucks, so he won't bother you! :) On clear days, you can see the coast and the sea much beyond.
  • This fort is really a nice place to visit. The place is very calm. Most of the time the number of visitors will be only you and your family. Sometimes the school buses will come and you will see a lot of crowd and noise. The fort has been kept clean. The entry view to the fort is awesome. This place is around 11 KM from Kumta on the way to Karwar. Last 1 KM is off the National highway and the road is not good. The best time to visit this place is morning time (before 10 AM) or evening (after 4 PM) as it will be very hot during the day time and also this place has not trees (as it is plain fort). Only a small village type shop is available.
  • A good scooter ride away from the main city and beaches is this lovely fort. Even if you're not into history, you'll be taken aback by this. Admire the architecture of a bygone era and take plenty of pics. Have coconut water outside and ride back to town.
  • Wonderful place to visit, Don't forget to visit it's to near to visit from Gokarna 30Kms. and 1.5 km from highway.
  • Dry place nothing much to see .. With grass grown every where ..and no access to certain places..
