  • €0.13 to enter in this museum. Can you believe? Really it's not that anything in particular, but the statue of Camões is beautiful and almost enough to be moving to see so much of Portugal in a space so small. We can also learn a bit about the history of navigation.

  • he museum was established in 1964 and reorganized in 1981–82. Housed in the convent portion of the church of St. Francis of Assisi, antiquities displayed in 8 galleries include the objects from the prehistoric and early historic period to the late mediaeval period. The importance of this museum lies in the display of the portrait paintings of governors and viceroys, wooden sculptures, pillars, capitals, postal stamps likewise many other objects which belong to the Portuguese period in Goa. The additional facilities provided for the visitors include the potable drinking water, clean inventory, video show on World Heritage properties in India, children activity center, publication sale counter.
  • Provides very enlighted information about history of Portuguese n their presence in Goa. U vl find huge variety of artefacts, especially ships/boats. Well maintained though upper floor need to work upon. There is entry fee of Rs.10 per person. It is just adjacent to St. Francis's church. Photography is not allowed here.
  • Must visit if you want to know the history of Goa. Lot of information I got to know and was able to recollect all that was thought in school. Unfortunately we cannot take pictures or film any section of this museum. Don't forget to see the statue of Alfonso de Albequerque whose navigation helped vasco da gama to reach calicut.
  • This museum is having artifacts n old paintings, statues n other historical pieces beautifully carved n preserved. A good place to visit while visiting bom Jesus church.
  • Nice place for spending some time after you are done with beach
