Dudhsagar Falls, Goa
(4.4/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
The tallest waterfall in India, Dudhsagar Falls is fed by the Mandovi River, which swells us massively with monsoon rain water. With an average width of 30 m (100 ft) and height of 310 m (1017 ft), the four-tiered waterfall truly inspires with its grand size. Many tour operators offer monsoon treks to this spot--the waterfall is at its most impressive during the wet season. The surrounding deciduous forests shelter rich plant and animal life. Put Dudhsagar Falls at the forefront of your travel plans using our Goa vacation builder.

  • Excellent place. Usually opens in first week of November or some time in October depending on the water in small rivers that we pass through. You can go by train or cab. If you go by train then you would need to walk for about 4 km. You may get bikers to drop you near by with a charge. Go with swimming clothes. With the help of life jacket anybody can easily float in the small water fall area. Must see place in Goa.
  • Dhudhsagar is a majestic waterfall. There are two ways to go this place. 1)One is walk on the rail track and you will be at a bridge like 50 m away from waterfall.. in fact the dhudhsagar water flows under this bridge. This is not a recommended route as it is restricted by govt and there are notices at stations before and after dhudhsagar. Police checking also takes place. If you are caught on track you might have to pay fine. Trekking groups have experience of handling railway police and they know the timings well so going with them is comparatively safe. 2) This will take you to a watch tower from which you can see the waterfall but this tower is more than a km far from the actual waterfall so the excitement is less.
  • One of the best preserved waterfalls in the middle of a wildlife sanctuary. The view of the falls from pool below is really stunning and its quite a sight to view the train crossing the bridge across the falls. The access to the bottom of the falls is via the jeeps that ply from Kollem, the jeeps start running after the monsoon is over (this year they started on 23rd Oct). The other way to access the bridge is to trek along the railway track which prohibited by the RPF (I have seen people getting chased out by RPF personnel), but there are few locals who will manage to sneak you in (I haven't tried this but only heard this from co travellers).
  • Nice water fall..should go in monsoon..the view of train that goes on bridge is awesome..chennai express movie scene was shot here..where train stops in middle, and srk meets deepika's father..
  • I fell in love with this place by watching in one of the film... on that day i decided to go this place when i get a good time... finally the day came ...... got surprised to see those water falls better to see in November month... Kudos to Nature :p
