Arey Ware Beach, Ganpatipule

4.6
#4 of 32 in Parks in Ratnagiri District
A rare bit of coastal paradise you can have all to yourself, Arey Ware Beach features a long stretch of clean sand repeatedly lapped by moderate waves. Accessible from the coastal highway, this undeveloped beach is never crowded. The best time to come is just before sunset, when you can watch the sky turn red as the sun sinks into the Arabian Sea. Watch your step when going into the water--during low tide, the sand can be covered with thousands of tiny crabs. For refreshments and dining, drive farther uphill. • During our trip to Ratnagiri in Feb 18, I visited Ganpatipule with my family. We have visited Ganapatipule several times before, but this time while going to Ganpatipule, we choose the coastal road from Ratnagiri to Ganpatipule temple and during our journey, we were mesmerized by the beauty on the way. Aare-Ware beach is about 15 km away from Ratnagiri. In fact there are two different places Aare & Ware, both having beaches, but the area, where both meet is really scenic & simply awesome. Hence the name Aare-Ware. Lovely view points and beautiful sea from above will make you fall in love with this place. Aare-ware beach is a very neat & clean beach on the coastal route from Ratnagiri to Ganpatipule. The view was a pristine beauty, untouched and wonderful...we loved this.
  • About 7-8 km ahead towards Ratnagiri, Arey Ware Beach is beautiful green water beach. It is large beach with white sands and clean water. It is mostly not crowded. We had time constraints, so we visited it in the morning and for a short period. It is as good a beach as we find in foreign locales.  Sadly, tourist infrastructure is missing throughout the Kokan belt. If the government cares, it could develop the entire stretch for a tourism heaven, which will attract millions of tourists and create a tourism-centric economy to bring jobs and prosperity to local villages.
  • This beach is a treasure. You will have to be lucky to be here at the right time to see white crabs, seagulls , shells and sparkling clean water. We chanced upon it!! But the time spent here makes me wanna go back there again and again. Just a caution, avoid taking your car down to the beach. Its deceptive and while you think you can pull it off, the car gets stuck. Rescued one vehicle there. Can't believe this beach is in India
  • Vary clean & clear beach. Less crowded. A very good beach for family visit to spend some quality time. View from mountain nearby is can't be described in words..
  • Beautiful beach.. Golden sands. Very few people. Will need own transport to get here as there are very few public transport options
