  • This place is located at a altitude of ~14000ft. Which implies the oxygen levels are quite low and hence this is definitely not for everyone. However note that we saw many kids climbing and playing in the snow while very few kids had slight difficulty in breathing. Why should we go there ? Of course apart from the Indian gate, no mans land and a couple of buildings there is nothing physical to see. I carry a sense of overwhelming respect for our Indian army after visiting the place and it is for this that we need to visit this place. Along with this, the overall experience of breathing amidst lack of oxygen, when your heart throbs faster in the beautiful scenic place and yet you want to climb is a wonderful experience. Also note that, the journey to reach Nathula is absolutely beautiful can't take eyes off it and can't stop enjoying the pure cool breeze. A few points to be noted: 1. Please do not take pictures. Ideally cell phones are not allowed and we are not supposed to take photographs. However the typical human nature wants selfies/pictures as it is one time experience, try to treasure it in your memories and not in the mobile devices. Also note that the cell phones will be taken if the soldiers see you taking pictures. Let us not add more pressure and work to the already hard job of our soldiers.
  • It's cold and eerie and then there's the altitude to deal with. It is pristine beauty of arid landscape and snow-capped mountains. Straight out of National Geographic.
  • Excellent place. The pass leads us to the Indo-China border, which you could actually see. Photography is strictly prohibited in and around the pass, so don't even try taking photos, they'll just confiscate your phone.
  • The stunning place We reached there at 12PM in month of mid June but the weather was incredible, not so cold but not so hot like north India. Sikkim the beauty 😍
  • Adventure, thrill, pride and natural beauty in abundance. Less oxygen and cold will test you. No camera usage guidelines for tourists by Army. You can see chine border from just 2 feet distance. Chinese PLA troops roam around nearby. Once in lifetime visit.....
