  • Great journey to an awesome place. You can stand almost 1 feet away from China. The Border is so close. Just remember that at such height there is limited Oxygen. You get tired easily.
  • Nathula Pass was a major corridor of passage between India and Tibet before it was closed in 1962. Located around 56 kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 14450 ft., the road to Nathula passes through the Tsomgo lake. It is one of the highest motor able roads in the world. Nathula Pass is open for Indian nationals on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays. The visitors have to get the permit to visit the place by applying to the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department through a registered and recognized Travel Agency. Foreign nationals are not allowed to visit Nathula. Photography is strictly prohibited. You can take photos at parking area.
  • What a actual borders look like you will see here. Both sides is same just a fence or marking makes one different from other. Land mines area near border and there was clear warning Don't trespass. We found not much to visit in sikkim main town so planned for Nathula pass. Apply 1 day earlier and check which days it's open for tourists. We went in monsoon and after getting out if town we were in cloud most of time. Road was quite treacherous. It's at high altitude. Photography prohibited. Many people say hi hello to Chinese soldier. It's fascinating to see that they were responding heartedly
  • This was my very first boarder experience. The weather was really pleasant. Hats off to Indian army for their excellent job doing there at the top despite of such shivering cold. Enjoyed a lot . One of the best top place ever visited.
