MG Marg, Gangtok

Categories: Neighborhoods, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web
Explore a bustling city street named after the famous Indian political leader, MG Marg. Marg is a Hindi word standing for road, so this place is considered the town center of Gangtok. Stroll the boulevard square and explore the malls, restaurants, and shops. The entire area is a pedestrian-only zone, free of litter, smoke, and vehicles. Soak in the carnival atmosphere with many festivals held here, the most renowned being the annual Gangtok Food and Culture Festival in December, with many food stalls being opened and ethnic dance performances and musical shows organized.
