Where to stay in Gangtok

Gangtok doesn't lack accommodations, with the state capital used as a base for exploration of the wider region by multitudes of visitors. Take a look along the north-south arterial road, home to many of the main hotels offering everything from upmarket luxury to simple rooms to bed down in. A set of particularly classy high-rise options boast balconies with excellent views of the mountains, while side-street guesthouses and hostels provide the budget-friendly options in Gangtok.

  • For all those lovers of Shri ganesh it's a revered place and all devotees visit this temple with respect. Situated on a hill top this is a beautiful temple with a wonderful statue of Ganesha. The atmo...  more »
  • The temple is located in a peaceful serene atmosphere of Gangtok's green hills. You can get some great views from this point. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs to get to the top though.  more »

  • Not much itself in the place(Ganeshji Temple) but the road towards it it just so beautiful (visit early morning before sunrise and you will see the golden Himalaya/my personal favorite).. Also a spooky house nearby which is often unvisited
  • Hindu Temple with a Buddhist twist. Serene and peaceful. Has a good view of the valley below after 9am. It is foggy but also very peaceful in the early mornings.
  • Very good place, a lot of tourists. Outside of this building you can rent local dress...
  • After Ganesh darshan you can view beautiful city view which you will never forget. But it is very crowded with tourists and different vendors.
  • Nice vibe and wonderful view from the top of the temple. You can spot the whole city from there. Beautiful and different sanctuary. Worth stopping by.
