Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, Gangtok

4.3
Visit a holy place high up in the mountains at Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, built to honor a 27-year-old soldier who died while posted close to the Sino-Indian border. Singh's death in 1968 has remained the subject of myth and spiritual belief: the official version suggests that he was killed during a skirmish on a mountain pass between Tibet and Sikkim, but others state that he perished in a glacier. Legend has it that he visited one of his colleagues in a dream and asked him to build a shrine here in his memory. The shrine has become a moving tribute and a place of pilgrimage, particularly for service personnel. • At the top the hills surrounded by army camps near by this is a very holy temple. There is a small museum near by. Also slight ahead of it, there is a beautiful Shiva statue and a very beautiful stream that passes near by the statue. Overall, very happy to visit there.
  • Can someone come back after death? Can Soldier serve for his nation after his death also? If no, then why he is getting the salary, promotion, leave for two months every year and got retirement also after he died. A soldier who died in the year 1968, has served his nation after death also. After death also, he continued to serve himself on the border of China-India and has protected the border until he got retired. This is the belief of the people of the Indian army and China army. India army on border believes that there is a soldier with them who is not visible to anyone but he is always present. Baba Harbhajan Singh, a soldier of Indian army was born on 30th August 1946 and died in the year of 1968. His last posting was in Sikkim. One night he was lost while moving with his mates from one location to another in a dangerous climate. Next day every one tried to search for him but was unsuccessful. every one thought that he ran away from here. But after few days he came in the dreams of his one of the soldier friend and told him the location of his body. Next day according to the dream the dream, the search team searched in that particular location and found Harbhajan dead body. The army has mistaken by assuming that he ran away, so they gave him Last Rites or Funeral Everyone was shocked that how he came after death to tell that where is the body is. But this was the just beginning. After a few months he came in the dream of one of the soldier and told him that my body has only died but my spirit is still On-duty. I will continue to serve my nation after my death also. First, this dream was ignored by everyone but slowly some unusual started happening with other soldiers
