Gomti Ghat, Dwarka

3.7
#4 of 7 in Historic Sites in Dwarka
Get splashed by the waves and take a holy dip at Gomti Ghat, a stairway leading into the holy waters at the mouth of the Gomti River flowing into the Gulf of Kutch. Serving a large temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and a number of smaller ones, the ghat has been a popular place for Hindu pilgrims for about a 100 years. Hop in a boat and get a sweeping view of Dharka from the water. Enjoy a view of the Arabian Sea and buy some sea shell jewelry from local women selling them on the waterfront. Where to stay in Dwarka

As a major point of Hindu pilgrimage, you'll find a number of accommodations located close to the main temple in Dwarka. With the city built only on a small scale, you won't have too many problems accessing the main sites, regardless of where you stay in town. By the same token, however, places in the city can fill up very quickly, particularly during August and September when a range of festivities are held. Hotels go from mid-range to basic, and you'll also find some dormitory-style lodging in town.
