Nice peaceful weekend outing, quite a vast area for a park - children will enjoy. Try the `bon morog` in the kitchen if available, was yumm.
Charming surroundings with river, reserve forest, old temple, village and a small lake with a park. Not a extravagent resort but decent stay makes it a worthy weekend trip.
Nice place to visit for a day (one night) from Kolkata. you need to have your own vehicle (or hired) to reach this place.
Not worth it. Small and peaceful, but there is nothing to do here.
Both Garh Jungle and Deul Park are next to each other. If you are looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then this is your place. It is quiet and serene from journey to destination. The journey from the highway would lead you to a single lane road with few under-construction residential complex, a college, few petrol pumps, village kinda places along with few ATMs and then loads of trees on side which would already give you the appeal of a forest. Use navigator on your phone, it helps accurately. But, navigator cant help so well once you have entered the kaccha road. But, there on dont forget to notice a man sitting by the kaccha road at different turns of your journey to guide you through. You will find sign board on the kaccha road thrice but only in Bengali to guide you through.Once you have made your turn from the single lane road to the kaccha road, its all Garh Jungle forest from there on. One turn takes you to the temple the other one to the Deul park. At the temple, the priest will guide you through. At the Deul park, you can stay at the accommodation inside the park. Fooding can be availed only if you are lodging. Outside the park gate, you could buy some snacks and have tea. Inside there are rides and boating facility which are all closed. The park is not too big but well maintained. Beautiful flowers blooming. You can sit spend some time, look at the lake. Then through the other gate you can go to the river. Some bathe in the river and some at a distance cooked for their picnic. Here, I preferred to sit and then to lie down on the sand and enjoy the quiet surrounding. With my someone special, the trip became extra special.
