St. Paul's Church, Diu

(4.1/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Marvel at intricately carved walls and light a candle at St. Paul's Church, a mesmerizing colonial-style Portuguese church. Completed in 1610 by Jesuits and reconstructed in 1807, the church has an impressive Baroque façade painted white, making it one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in India. Massive, elaborately carved wooden doors, paneled wooden furniture, and an image of Mary carved from a single piece of Burmese teak fill its spacious interior, which can accommodate around 250 people. The still-active church, dedicated to Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, also features an exquisite 400-year-old pulpit. Our Diu travel itinerary maker makes visiting St. Paul's Church and other Diu attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.
