Baba Baidyanath Temple, Deoghar

4.4
Marvel at the ancient stonemasonry and architecture at Baba Baidyanath Temple, a complex of 22 Hindu temples believed to be the most sacred temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. A landmark of the Deoghar area, the 30 m (72 ft) tall lotus pyramid shaped towers, or shikharas, painted white stand in stark contrast to the city. Noted in several ancient scriptures, this is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples, most revered by Shiva followers. The temple houses exquisite 65 kg (143 lb) gold vessels, trident-shaped knives and a rare blue moonstone believed to let droplets of water on the rare Jyotirlinga stone. Enjoy a wide garden area, observe the devotees and try some cookies offered at stands. • It is one of the 12 Jyotrlingas of Lord Shiva. The management has made an arrangement in such an order that a huge crowd of devotees is managed easily till the Center Hall of the temple. At the center people who have been assigned to perform the duty of managing smooth flow of crowd of devotees are either inefficient or they don't want to perform their duty. It is a total mess as soon as you enter the Central Hall of the temple. Even people behave better in a fish market. Neither devotees nor the people who are performing their duty were having a Civic sense. Rest all is fine. Outside the center Hall everything is going well and kudos to the temple management for the same. But it could be better if the arrangement for Central Hall is also taken care of seriously and sincerely.
  • You will feel soul peace here. You must visit one time in your lifetime. There is other tourist place also. You will get hotels and rooms and all other facility like transport and all are available. This is beautiful place. There is no doubt that, this place is a holy place of "Lord Shiva". But the facility and system of here needs to be improved a lot. Those who cannot pay money to "public pandas" are not allowed to offer JAL properly. I saw some of security/police officers had taken money from public to take them inside the temple directly without bothering those people who was waiting in queue since six to eight hours to his/her terms. Parking is an issue, roads are narrow. City is very quiet and peaceful. Temple has walkways to manage queues. But the walkways scan be extended to cover the temples of all the gods (and not just Lord Shiva) in one go. Railway connectivity to be worked upon.
  • Very peaceful place. You will feel blessed. Lord shiva has always been a blessing to all individual on this earth. His blessings fulfills all our dreams and gives us enormous peace of mind. You will always feel delighted whenever you come and visit this place. This place has a special attention during the month of sawan. This is a awesome place.
  • Lord Shiva is worshipped here. A very large pilgrims are visiting this temple. We were able to get darshan after standing in queue for two and half hours. But it is a great experience.
  • Very beautiful place for religious people. Millions people came here with facing more difficulty but they go from here with great pleasure. The best thing I feel that there is not difference in people who is rich and who is poor. They all are same in same dress.
