3.8/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web
At Tiger Hill, experience panoramic views of some of the highest peaks in the Himalayas. You can reach the summit either by foot 11 km (6.8 mi) from the town of Darjeeling, or by jeep. With a straight line distance of 172 km (107 mi), you can actually see the world's rooftop--Mount Everest--from this site, even though the fifth-highest peak, Makalu, appears higher here because of the curvature of the Earth. Observe the vast mountainous landscape around you and the rivers which meander to the south. Visit the wildlife sanctuary situated close to the summit. Remember to bring your hiking boots and warm clothing for this venture. • Amazing place to see sunrise. How the sun can rise colorfully that can only be seen from this place but if there is excessive fog that might be a bad luck for you. There is a saying that Rabindranath Tagore tried to see the view for several times but can not. So its upon your luck.....
  • Been to this hills in the early morning to see the sunrise. A bit crowded at that time. The view of sun rising between two hills was good. Apart from which nothing else was there.
  • A very nice place to watch the Sunrise. It is very very cold. Make sure you reach the place by 4 AM.
  • Really a freaking awesome place. You can watch the run rising up from the horizon. And the Kanchenjunga Mountains covered in the snow as well as both has a very good few. If you there in winters then its cold up there.
