Wildlife Area Nature / Park
Take a wildlife safari and a bird-watching tour at Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, part of the Anshi Dandeli Tiger Reserve. Located on the banks of the Kali River, the reserve offers a mix of adventure and wildlife-spotting, and is the only place in India to report frequent sightings of the elusive black panther. Spanning 866 sq km (334 sq mi), this densely forested reserve houses nearly 200 species of birds, including great hornbills, Malabar pied hornbills, orange-headed thrushes, and Indian yellow tits. Other animals like elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, jackals, Indian pangolins, barking deer, and giant Malabar squirrels also roam the sanctuary.
