Take a wildlife safari and a bird watching tour at Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, part of the Anshi Dandeli Tiger Reserve. Located on the banks of Kali River, the area offers a mix of nature, adventure and wildlife and it is the only spot in India to report frequent spotting of the elusive black panther. Spanning 866 sq km (334 sq mi), this densely forested reserve houses nearly 200 species of birds including great hornbills, Malabar pied hornbills, orange headed thrushes and Indian yellow tits. Other animals like elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, jackals, Indian pangolins, barking deer and giant Malabar squirrels can also be spotted.
