Lamb's Rock, Coonoor
Categories: Lookouts, Tourist Spots
The vantage point of Lamb's Rock looks out onto green hills enveloped by mist, and a jagged mountain cliff rising 1,250 m (5,000 ft) above sea level. Right next to the cliff you can explore the ravine, where a stream flows through the humid valley. Have a picnic party at this popular natural haven, which an Englishman named Captain Lamb made accessible by cutting a path towards it. Nowadays, rustic cottages cluster here, each private veranda offering a view of the vibrant tropical landscape. Lamb's rock is a place you don't want to miss. One of the important tourist spots, it is perfect for photography. The view of the Niligiri mountains and valley is simply breathtaking.
Its also one of the view points in Coonoor. Steps were so steep and this view point definitely needs a guide as there are no directions of sign boards of the views. Guides were charging very high.
