Dhyanalinga Temple, Coimbatore

4.4
#1 of 54 in Things to do in Coimbatore
Religious Site Tourist Spot
Find your balance at Dhyanalinga Temple, a consecrated Yogic temple dedicated to meditation, but which does not adhere to any single faith or belief system. True to this unique school of thought, the Sarva Dharma Sthamba at the front door symbolizes unity and displays icons of Hinduism, Christianity, Taoism, and more. People visit to meditate in peace, but also to look for the "theerthakund," a subterranean tank with a lingam made of solidified mercury submersed in the water. Visitors are welcome to take a dip in the water before meditating. If you enter the domed temple, keep in mind that silence must be maintained at all times. • The Dhyanalinga is only pilgrimage any Individual (irrespective of their religion or culture) needs to go to. For somebody trying to understand the meaning or purpose of life or for someone who wishes to understand what is the ultimate possibility that their life has, even for anyone trying to reconcile with the difficult situations in their life, this is the perfect destination. Sitting there for 15-20 mins had put me on a wonderful and beautiful mystical spiritual path to the ultimate. The mountains, the serene yet energized and vibrant atmosphere and the presence of Dhyanalinga makes this a very very special place. I've experienced that calmness and stillness is a natural outcome of visiting this place. I go there as frequently as possible. Must visit for
  • Very beautiful place in the middle of scenic mountains coconut trees. Made by natural big stones with very elegant design. Very peaceful. They take your mobile phone away during entry so cant post pictures.
  • A great place to meditate. Well maintained. The place is very well managed by the staff and the volunteers. A must visit for everyone.
  • Very peaceful place. And it's a meditation place. Can can heel your self. One of good place to visit in Coimbatore.
  • Great Place, calm surroundings, good TIME PASS , ideal place to feel d divine but too much of crowd made it to an yet another tourist spot, time pass rather than a Divine spot.
