Dhyanalinga, Coimbatore

4.5
Find your balance at Dhyanalinga, a consecrated Yogic temple dedicated to meditation, but which does not adhere to any single faith or belief system. True to this unique school of thought, the Sarva Dharma Sthamba at the front door symbolizes unity and displays icons of Hinduism, Christianity, Taoism, and more. People visit to meditate in peace, but also to look for the "theerthakund," a subterranean tank with a lingam made of solidified mercury submersed in the water. Visitors are welcome to take a dip in the water before meditating. If you enter the domed temple, keep in mind that silence must be maintained at all times. • It was interesting experience. But if you want to spend in there more time than just couple hours, I recommend to bring some mat to sit on with you. Sitting on the stony floor becomes quite painful after some time and even if you manage to leave your body, there is a painful "welcome back" when you're done :-) Note that phones and cameras are forbidden in the entire complex. On the other hand, I love the surrounding nature. It would be great if they could make the adjacent palm forest accessible to the people, so they can connect with nature in a more natural way, than just through the dome.
  • In the first visit You may not feel anything. But this place will definitely transform You in a big way. My Life is completely changed. It took 2 years for Me as I was not very serious.
  • Beyond my thinking level...energetic. Beautiful architect! Amazing place. Calm, peaceful and same very active. So many yoga program going on silently.
  • Peaceful place, provides the best ambience for a meditation 🧘🏻‍♂️. No phones or outside foods are allowed inside. A juice stall and a canteen is available inside. Stalls that sell a wide variety of hand crafted products and a lot of spiritual products too present inside .
  • Only those sit inside know what all can happen. Each persons experience varies. The spectrum of individual experiences inside is unimaginable and brings tears of gratitude. Even crowded the volunteers maintain utmost calm, composure and silence. It is designed to blow you and with a little observation you could feel the energy reverberating inside. Just sitting you enter into a space which you probably never even imagine is within you. Visit just for once in your lifetime. You can be never be the same again.
