Mountain Nature / Park
Take a drive to Baba Budangiri: the second-highest peak in the mountain range, it remains a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus and Muslims owing to its shrine to Sufi saint Baba Budan. At the lofty height of 1,895 m (6,217 ft), you'll gain some spectacular views across the country from the Chandradrona range, the tallest between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris. Look out for a scenic waterfall, about 4 km (2.4 miles) from the subterranean shrine. Other nearby attractions include a lake, various other shrines, and three caves with siddha tombs. Make Baba Budangiri a centerpiece of your Chikkamagalur vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Chikkamagalur travel itinerary maker.
