  • Don't be deceived by the name. We thought there would be tiger or atleast there will be a history that tigers were there but none of them are true. There is also no cave here. There is only a small te...  more »
  • It is more correct to say it is hollowed by the large stone at the entrance of the hollow, which installed the stone heads of tigers. The stone itself is not so big (and not one by the way), but it all looks curious. Territory with these stone structures well groomed and are fenced. The truth is, get there by public transport inconvenient. I have not rode from Chennai, and from Mamallapurama and had to change from a bus to a tuk-tuk. It was already evening and began to rain. Next to the sea, almost on the beach. Let me put it this way: it is possible to visit or not to visit, not to change anything in your impressions about the lovely South India!:)

  • Do not miss the 2000 year old remains of the brick temple next to to the Tiger cave. This is fenced and has a gate which is not locked, but looks locked from the road. Monuments around Mahabs have to ...  more »

  • Lovely place for a family outing. Serene surroundings, beach closely, well maintained lawns and stunning rock cut sculptures typical of the Pallava Dynasty. Constructed at around the 8th Century AD, this was recently excavated. I wish the management keeps additional boards to let visitors know the reasons why these temples are left half complete. While the Tiger cave (donot worry, there are not any tigers in there, not even cats) seems to be half complete, the adjoining small temple complex seems a little more close to completion.
  • Very interesting Pallava cave works less than 5 kms from Mahabalipuram . Well maintained by ASI. Don't miss the epigraphs / inscriptions and nearby Subramaniya temple about 100 meters from the caves
  • Weekend gateway.there is no tigers here. but have monolithic rock tiger sculptures.Nice place to visit.just 3 km Mahabalipuram. Beach is awesome. But it good in morning and evening. Waves are dangerous. Siva ling monolithic was built by pallavanarasimha.
  • Nice location to take photo. It was maintained clean and green. There is water pond with carved mountain. Standing rock looks nice. Behind that place there is a Beach nice place to sit and enjoy the sea breeze.
  • Good Place to visit all..not much crowded, no entry fee, parking fee- Rs.10/- A nice rock cut temple, sivalingam temple is good to watch.. also u visit beach.. good to visit at morning
