Marina Beach, Chennai (Madras)
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Take a walk along Marina Beach, the world’s second longest natural urban beach. The sandy shore stretches for 13 km (8.1 mi), although strong undercurrents create conditions too dangerous for swimming. Browse the numerous shops and stalls that line the popular beach, have a picnic in the sand, or splash around in one of the two swimming pools. Strolling along the seaside promenade, you can admire an array of statues and monuments, many of which depict local leaders, writers, activists, and other significant people from the country’s past. Use our Chennai (Madras) itinerary builder to add Marina Beach and other attractions to your Chennai (Madras) vacation plans.
