Admire the colorful facade of Kapaleeshwar Temple, an ancient Hindu temple adorned with vibrantly painted stucco figurines. One of the oldest temples in Chennai, it was designed in the Dravidian architectural style and is dedicated to a form of Shiva presented as a peacock, and his consort, Parvati. Take in the spiritual atmosphere of the revered temple and observe the ornately decorated, 37 m (121 ft) tall "gopuram" entrance tower.
