Head to the historic city of Kanchipuram and witness a prime example of Dravidian architecture at Kamakshi Amman Temple. According to historians, the temple was probably built around 6 CE. It features gopurams, which are covered in gold overlays. Its main deity is Kamakshi. Notice as the god sits in a yoga-like position as opposed to the traditional standing position of many other deities. This signifies peace and prosperity.
