  • Don't expect this to be like a zoo. This is more of a children's park with just few animals and birds for display. Not well organized. Quality of food court inside the park is very poor. This can be a...  more »

  • I went to Guindy National Park. Guindy National Park consists of various vegetation zones mainly tropical dry evergreen flora with over 350 species of plants including trees, shrubs, climbers, herbs and grasses. It is great place to go. One of the smallest national Park in India. I persisted in asking the officials to allow me to walk in the park--the rewards were very many, beautiful fauna, spreading banyans, lots of deer. You can find snake house here. There is some sitting areas inside as well.
  • Beautiful place for kids. Also has snake park inside. Ticket is also cheap. Well maintained. Located near Cancer institute. No restaurants inside. But there is coffee shop and bakery and also has parking space. But this should not expect too many animals too be seen, since it's just a national park.
  • A best place to see animals, birds and reptiles in Chennai city. There are 2 blocks available; one for animals, birds & kids play area; another one for reptiles (crocodiles, snakes, tortoises etc). You have to buy separate tickets for both. Better you carry your food. The eatery is available only outside the park, and you get only fast food type items. You can cover both the parks within 5-6 hrs.
  • It is like a mini zoo. There is a nice Vedanthangal bird enclosure with the birds, Rosy pelican, grey pelican, painted stork, little egret, cattle egret, grey heron, pond heron, night heron and white ibis. There are animals kept there like deer, peacock, monkeys, parrots, love birds, ostrich, emu, snakes etc. There is a nice aquarium. Children's play area is also nice. There is enough parking space and fast food and ice creams are available. There is a toilet in the parking area and 3 toilets inside the park for convenience. Snake park is adjacent to this, sharing the same parking space.
  • Please take kids to park like this to give a real world feel than taking to malls or indoor games. This place is really safe and good for kids and children and also family to hang out. Entry fee is just 20 with which you can spend the whole day. Encourage such parks
