Chapora Fort, Chapora
Categories: Ruins, Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Get a new perspective on the coastal area and the mouth of the river, as well as a greater understanding of local history at Chapora Fort. Built by the Portuguese in 1617 on the site of an older Muslim structure, the fort changed hands many times before its ultimate abandonment in 1892. Today, the crumbling ruins only possess outer walls, although the view from these alone merits the hike uphill. Standing on top of the ramparts, you'll gain sights of nearby beaches and the sparkling sea and river below. Nice old Portuguese fort in North Goa overlooking Vagator beach... What a great view Its a small hike to the top. There is just a garrison wall left atop the fort now. Cold drink and water vendors roam all around the fort for tourists. Its a small tourist attraction. Definitely go there if you want a magnificent view of the great sea.. and north face beaches of Goa
Well this place as u all know is famous for the movie dil chahta hai shooting. But beyond that the climb to the fort it self is very dangerous not safe. The government has not developed roads to this Fort as they have developed the agoda Fort. The views yes it does have good views but u can get the similar views at agoda Fort. There is nothing in side the fort.. Go there only if u have lot of spare time, and if u wana re-live the Dil chah ta hai experience.
The Dil Chahta Hai fort! Quite a breezy place with some breath taking view of the Chapora river meeting the sea and also the Chapora beach.
Dil Chahta Hai was shot here! Has an awesome view.
Better known for the Dil Chahta Hai spot, this place is excellent for picnics, small treks and viewing sunset.
