Goa's largest Portuguese-era mansion, Menezes Braganza House dates back to the 17th century and take up one entire side of the village square. One wing of the oversized home is filled with glass chandeliers and family treasures brought from Europe and Asia. The other section contains a large ballroom with a marble floor, as well as a private chapel used to store the fingernail of Saint Francis Xavier.   • When you go up the stairs from the entrance, go to the right side, the Perreira side, the descendant is friendly and allows photos and to touch and sit on furniture. The ballroom is also beautifully r...  more »
  • Far from everything, the road is bad, poorly stated and especially lined for kilometres, of rubbish dumped by this "wonderful" Goan population... 2 people who do visit a half of the House and the owner who showed his own half do minimum service: a few dates, a few references to the King of Portugal, scathing critical qq of the Indian Government, the indication repeated up to the comic of the Chinese origin of many objects (the ugly one), a little scam about the cost of the operation, but it does not go well far and voila. It's still the only large Portuguese furnished period House that can still be visited. She is gorgeous... the frescoes are superb, even if it is sometimes for us a more than dubious taste... and one begins to dream of the life you led.

  • It is a historical place. This house was constructed four hundred forty eight years ago. Today there thirteenth generation live in this house. The interior is very beautiful. All the interior is made by foreign materials from china, belgium, etc. All the interior is made when the house was constructed.
  • House worth visiting to see olden days construction and interior designer more for antique furniture.The ball room is just beautiful.It is well worth to visit the place.
  • Nice to spend time here .it is an old house with antique things of different countries .it is divided into two parts omong the family .felt good to visit the house .it is free to visit no ticketing but u can contribute or donate to them some money .it is a private old bangalow of an influencial and reach Goan family who had lost all their land after indian act of land reforms .you will see alot of antique things here like vases from China . mirror from Belgium Kashmiri handicrafts and many more things .the ladylord of this place explains everything thing in detail and tells you the story of their family and their loss.they are very sober and well behaved leady .they give you a detailed knowledge of the landlord system of that time plus indian independence and all the events that contributed to their loss of property . By visiting this place you will come through unique and antique things . including some pops finger nail .the furtunature of the place is really great .this place is only for antique and history lovers .there is no fun of giloiung there if you don't have any interest in history and antique things .rest the surroundings aate desert .it is in a village where there are no hotels restaurants cafe and public transport .
  • A place with golden history of Goa, The antique paintings and items present are really awesome. Can make out how much our ancestors were talented. Thanks to my colleague who took me there.
