Panjab University, Chandigarh

4.5
Tour a top-notch Indian university and see some landmark architecture at Panjab University, a self-contained campus of one of the oldest universities in the country. Established in 1882, the campus spans 222.5 hectares (550 acres), featuring a shopping mall, health clinic, a bank, a post office, an open-air theater and a sports center with a swimming pool and various fields and tracks. Enjoy a stroll along paved walkways with topiaries and visit the university’s own botanical garden and well-maintained parks. Check out a modernist Fine Arts Museum and cylindrically shaped Student Centre and enjoy a meal or coffee at a student cafeteria. • I simply love this place. When in college we used to spend hours hanging out at stu-c (student centre). The faculty used to be good back then and the place is kept very neat and clean. Usually there is not much traffic inside the university unless there is a fest. Security is tight. University used to have good ranking but not sure how it does in terms of national or international ranking.

  • Amazing lifestyle 'till there is no attendance issue😛. Blessed to be part of it. Got very caring family members in form of amazing classmates.
  • One of the best university. Just need to more fast in decalaration of results, specially for the final year or final semester.
  • Best University of in my Academic Career. Environment for 100% Masti +Study. Huge and Best Library. Laboratory are well maintained with good facilities. Rose Garden in campus. Hostel rooms are spacious with big balcony. Some hostels are constructed before 1960 but architecture is batter than some of IIT Hostels.

Where to stay in Chandigarh

The most popular hotels in Chandigarh tend to be located in Sector 22. Chain hotels usually occupy the corners of major streets, and particularly refined options boast views of the city's well-maintained green areas. Budget rooms can be found farther from the center and include a few hostels, guesthouses, and basic hotels in the residential areas. The restaurants and cafes of Sector 17 remain a major draw in the center of town. Located right next to Sector 22, the area also offers some of the most luxurious rooms in town.
