Taragarh Fort, Bundi

imagine how royalty once lived at Taragarh Fort, a hidden gem that, although not restored, offers so much to see. You can visit the fort alone, but if you take a guide, you have a chance to go into the locked rooms like the Maharaja’s bedroom, where you can see amazing artworks. Explore the wonderfully painted rooms and their decorations, and admire the palace's striking architecture. Go outside and enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding nature. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes to traverse the slippery terrain. Arrange to visit Taragarh Fort and other attractions in Bundi using our Bundi trip planning tool .

  • Good to see, just know that it is quite a hike up the mountain so make sure you wear proper shoes. Also, the wild monkeys are quite scary so bring a stick as the guide books recommend.  more »
  • A great fort in Bundi, but the buildings need intense renovation! Window-shields are loose, some steps seem to be dangerous. Its great to see the wall-paintings, but also those need protection and ren...  more »
  • Bundi is like 100 years ago with the many sacred cows, milk men on your bicycles, small shops, and the Fort. Slowly to the lapsed, but still very nice to see. Many typical Bundimalereien (all heads, whether of animal man or flowers are painted always from the side view), that you absolutely should experience with a guide. This can tell one of the most beautiful stories to each image and you can enter also spaces that remain closed the normal paying guest.

  • One very beautiful place in bundi for tourists..The place is at its peak of beauty when the sun sets. Rani Mahal in the Fort is also a gud attractive area..
  • Abandoned and dilapidated fort under private ownership. Dont expect much from this fort if you are a tourist and had also visited cities in Rajasthan like Jaipur Jodhpur & Jaisalmer. Very less people can be seen exploring this place in which is located at a height and off course you will be drained out after having a complete look of the fort in a sunny day. Last but not the least its a one time visit place and the ticket prices is ₹80/- for an Indian tourist and dont forget to take (₹50) camera ticket else some casual guy will catch you in middle and will ask for some ₹50-100 as bribe.
  • Bundi taragarh fort is very good place here u can feel very smoothe weather in rainy time n so many places around bundi city where u can explore everything for photography n also u can chillout there in forest also
  • Had a great time exploring the fort. Quite overgrown but lots of wildlife and monkeys. Some lovely ghats and historical buildings Great views over city but be prepared for a hike! I'd recommend boots and bring plenty of water.
  • Reasonably well maintained, great artwork in various parts of the campus, plus it's peaceful with parking at the bottom end of the fort keeping the noise away. Great view of the town from the top. Prefer visiting in winters or early morning in summers as it gets ridiculously hot.
