Taragarh Fort, Bundi

(3.9/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
imagine how royalty once lived at Taragarh Fort, a hidden gem that, although not restored, offers so much to see. You can visit the fort alone, but if you take a guide, you have a chance to go into the locked rooms like the Maharaja’s bedroom, where you can see amazing artworks. Explore the wonderfully painted rooms and their decorations, and admire the palace's striking architecture. Go outside and enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding nature. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes to traverse the slippery terrain. Plan to see Taragarh Fort and other attractions that appeal to you using our Bundi vacation trip planner.

  • Ticket for Palace and Fort will cost 500 INR. What is special about the two sites is that they are not perfectly restored tourist traps, but almost crumbled walls which you can explore on your own. That makes it something really special. If you would like to visit a Fort in Radjasthan, that certainly is a good choice in Bundi. Best man visited the Palace in the early morning and the local evening/afternoon starting at 4:00. The ascent to the Ford is more adventurous and can be complicated by wild monkeys. who are safely protected and with exciting information from gell launches would be, can down at the entrance after the leader Jay Singh ask. the high speed ensures the inclusion of maximum information.

  • The Fort is in many parts of the renovation needs, therefore it is important with the cheap entry to contribute a small part to the preservation. Beautiful views reward this visit

  • Avoid paying the ridiculous entrance fee at the main gate by trekking around the back of the fort (about 30/40 mins) to a secret entrance, but easy to find. The fort ruins are great, very unrestored and...  more »

  • Taragarh is one of the most impressive structures in Bundi. While it may be a bit ramshackle and strewn with overgrown vegetation, the palace grounds are a great place for a leisurely stroll. With its curved roofs topping pavilions, excess of temple columns and elephant and lotus motifs, the palace is a tribute to Rajput style.
  • Different from other forts... Good for short trekking. Not maintained and thus, visit if you enjoy "Khandahar" (खँडहर ) kind of place.
  • Nice place Built by mughal in 14th centuray, Not maintained properly
  • Magnificent fort and palace built in 14th century. Has exquisite art work on its walls and gates. The view of Bundi town from the fort is breathtaking.
  • Its nice and amazing place which reflect the history, traditon and culture of rajasthan. We are proud to have such a historical place in our state.
