Cave Paintings, Bundi

(4.8/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Claimed to be the longest rock painting on earth, Cave Paintings depict hunting scenes and images of panthers, tigers, antelopes, and deer. An amateur archeologist and a grocery shop owner from Bundi, known by the name of Kukki, has claimed to have found these pre-historic rock paintings that stretch 35 km (21.7 mi) from Banki village to Mandal dam. Not a single archeologist association or individual supported his findings. Still, Kukki seems to enjoy a lot of attention from tourists eager to explore Bundi and its surrounding in the company of a fun, friendly, and informative guide. Make Cave Paintings a centerpiece of your Bundi vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Bundi itinerary builder.

  • Unfortunately, we had "only" the pleasure with Kukki jr a tour by Bundi and the next morning to the Garh Palace to make, but that was one of the most varied and informative experiences in our 3 week India. In and around Bundi Kukki led us stops at sunset and in the early evening to the best photo. He not dragged us in any shops to buy souvenirs, but he told us with many craftsmen their functioning and we were also somewhat in contact with traders and craftsmen and could try out at many stands, street food or fruits. Of course you can also easily explore Bundi on your own, but we learned a lot more and also when we next afternoon were alone on the road, many traders greeted again friendly us, who recognized us from the previous day. Visit to the Garh Palace with Kukki jr was worthwhile. More information than other guides, well connected with Hindu religion and local history - recommended and congenial
