  • Avoid the weekends at any cost, specially in the first half. This is quite a large zoo and extremely popular with the locals as well as the tourists. Attractions are there in plenty including a small safari through the open cages. There's also a big lake where paddle boats are available for rent. Animal enclosures are poorly maintained and makes you feel sorry for the poor souls living inside. The crowds make things worse by shouting and jeering at them, disregarding their welfare completely. Its also a very dirty place, typical of most crowded places in India. Having said that, this place is still worth a visit though. Go in the weekdays, and its a nice place to walk inside.
  • I've seen the most number of white tigers and lions here. Decent National Park. Going on Orissa Tourism Bus is the best. They cover everything, and give us ample amount of time to view the animals. One of the best in India. Don't miss it. At the entrance, you can find a huge dinosaur statue, made excellently
  • During my childhood I read about this Zoo in comics and I never knew whether in future I will be able to visit this zoo or not, fortunately I made it 👍 I can say this is one of the best Zoo in world. Main attraction was white tiger and roaring of jungle king Lion. Area wise this is very big and well maintain. You can see most of the animals here. Kids definitely enjoy this place.
  • It's was nothing like anything I expected. The zoo has amazing features like safari where you experience what you will enjoy animals in jungles. They are not caged and you enter a designated area in through a vehicle and enjoy animal in wild. The variety of species that you don't get to see in indian zoo. Bird century, Lion, Tiger, Beer and white tiger, Reptiles, Even a baboon. Man this zoo is packed. A must visit site. They have lake where you can relax after a great day in zoo.
  • Established in 1960, it was opened to the public in 1979 and became the first zoo in India to join world association of zoo and aquarium in 2009. It also contains a botanical garden and part of it has been declared a sanctuary. Nice place.
