ISKCON Temple, Bhubaneswar

4.3
#4 of 27 in Sightseeing in Bhubaneswar
Religious Site Tourist Spot
Learn about the ways of Krishna at ISKCON Temple, where you can observe believers chanting at daily puja (a ritual prayer). Relatively small and modest comparing to other ISKCON temples, this one was built in 1991 by Gour Govinda Swami--a disciple of Swami Prabhupada, founder of Hare Krishnas. The site attracts pilgrims from around the world and features an ornate interior with three altars dedicated to Lord Krishna, his elder brother Balaram, his younger sister Subhadra, Gaura Nithai, and the lord of the universe Jagannath. Note that the temple's restaurant gets crowded during lunch hours.
