Bull Temple, Bengaluru
(3.5/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
One of the city's major landmarks, Bull Temple pays tribute to Nandi, the faithful attendant of the Hindu deity Shiva. Constructed during the 16th century, the temple features the iconic pyramidal architecture found commonly in historic sites across India, with added ornamental carvings of figures and deities. According to local legend, the temple originally came about as an attempt to appease a wild bull that wrought havoc on the area's crops. The temple's standout feature is a statue of Nandi, a 4.5 m (15 ft) tall figure carved out of a single piece of solid granite and surrounded by idols that depict other gods riding chariots. • Mostly a religious visit with a very impressible bull made of rock present in the premises. Also in the old part of Bangalore so that itself is very charming
  • The temple quite impressive out looks on the pictures. It is rather small, and except for an interesting dome and the boy shrine he has not much to offer.

  • It's not easy to park here as theere's also a big Ganesh Temple in the same place. Nandi itself is easy to see and the temple is not far from the road up a short hill (no shoes).
