4.3/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web
Admire a huge white colonial edifice of St. Mark's Cathedral, an Anglican church in MacIver Town and an oasis in the city surrounded by greenery. Inspired by the 17th century St. Paul’s Cathedral, the structure features a wide dome but no belfry. A blend of military and clerical colonial heritage, the church was founded in 1808 as a garrison church for the British Army’s 77th Moplah Rifles whose gilt colors and royal maces can be viewed inside the cathedral. The interior features a barrel vault ceiling supported by white pillars and the benches can accommodate 700 persons. The church has an organ and plaques commemorating those perished in the Malabar rebellion, Carnatic Wars and Bangalore Cantonment. • Beautiful heritage church from colonial times in the heart of Bangalore, surrounded by old trees. At the beginning of MG Road and the road that has the church's name - St Marks road.
  • Other attractions in Bangalore, this Catholic Cathedral as something not made special impressions. The building itself is somehow not caused to yourself any interest-ordinary Church for the parishioners. Maybe someone will be interested in the Cathedral from a historical point of view, because it is already about 200 years.

  • A place of prayer and hymns. A location where many a weddings are solemnised.
  • Traditional Anglican Church. Communion service every week. Patrons will enjoy the old world sanctity and peace. Good outreach programmes. Very good sunday school and youth programmes. St. Marks music academy is very popular and much patronised. One of the few churches with an impressive pipe organ and very experienced conductors. Good choir and last but not least, beautiful architecture with a high dome and very well decorated altar.
  • Beautiful church! A must visit!
  • These photos have not been changed for past 3 years after been pointed out that thay are of St Marks Hotel.
  • Wonderful church. More than 200 years. Fine, pleasant atmosphere in the compound of the church premises.
