Anjuna Beach, Goa

3.8
#14 of 63 in Beaches in Goa
Beach · Nature / Park
Lapped by foamy waves and sheltered by tall palm trees, Anjuna Beach is mostly famous for its full-moon parties with trance music. The '60s hippies were the first to discover this spot and organize rave parties, which became a trademark of the area. Ideal for swimming, the southern end of the beach features a rocky promontory that keeps the sea waves calm. The north section of the beach offers a range of small cafes, bars, and stalls selling Kashmiri handicrafts. Note that many, mostly harmless stray dogs travel in packs along this stretch of the coastline. Use our Goa road trip planner to add Anjuna Beach and other attractions to your Goa vacation plans.

  • Time we visited was not much rush there one can sit there whole day and relax for the half day .....  more »
  • The beach is full of glass from broken beer bottles. The visitors or the shack owners don't care for it in any way. There are no dustbins anywhere. I cut my toe deeply while just standing in the water  more »
  • Amazing experience, loved this place clean and worth of visiting. Local Food is amazing specially local fish. You get parking with very small price. Try local wine.. it’s good for first time.  more »

  • My favorite beach in Goa. Decent crowd.. and also one of the best sunset point... Take a bench, grab a beer and some snacks and enjoy the sunset
  • Another popular beach in north Goa. The beach is rocky and water level is quite deep on the shores. A lot of popular shacks offering lip-smacking sea food.
  • It's fun if you aren't scared of big waves. We went with family but half of my family members got bashed by big waves and they got out of water. Rest of us had fun in really high and sometimes scary waves.
  • Anjuna has a rough sea for swimming but great on a jet ski in the rough serf. The tide comes in right up to the steps of the bars. This isn't a place that is disabled friendly it is all small lanes and steps up to the bars and down to the beach. With a walking stick it was still hard going.. I would be reluctant to visit again.
  • It's a quiet far located north Goa beach away from general hush bush. It's usually suggested to visit at day time as at night it's become very lonely and dark with few people enjoying the private parties.
