It is said that, the Shiv Ling Placed over here is being carried out by the "Ravan " to his kingdom Shree Lanka. While he was carrying the Shiv Ling in the way , he had to stopped for a while to answer nature's call and he placed the Shiv ling over this place on the bank of river Binva . After doing all he tried to lift it again to carry on his way but as it was fixed by the destiny , The Ravan could not succeeded to lift it & carry to his Kingdom & It remained as it is since then at this place .
