  • It is a must to get the blessings of Banashankari amman. The deity is beautiful and gives us lots of positive energy

  • Temple Of Mata Banadhankari or Shakambari, reincarnation of Mata Parvati, Consort of Shri Mahadev. It is mentioned that the original temple is dated 7th century. The present structure was built in AD 1730. The temple has high walls on all the sides. The Sanctum Sanctorium has a beautiful tower above it. The Ashtabhuja ( 8 armed) Goddess is seated on a lioness trampling a demon under her feet. There is pond infront of of the temple. The area around the temple has thick cover of trees and coconut trees making it beautiful an cool place to sit and relax. If you are new to this place, do try 'masaru rotti chutney' ( Curd, Jawar roti served with Groundnut Chutney) by the local vendors moving among the crowds. It is tasty. Head towards Badami Caves once you are finished, they are very close.
