Mandir Mata Lal Devi, Amritsar
Categories: Sacred & Religious Sites, Tourist Spots
Meet all the Hindu gods under one roof at Mandir Mata Lal Devi, a labyrinthine building of tunnels and shrines based on pilgrimage locations around the country. Most of the famous temples and pilgrimage sites have been replicated in this cave-like structure, giving you a well-rounded overview of the Hindu religious culture and practices. Outside the temple, try some of the traditional sweets and food on sale. Make Mandir Mata Lal Devi part of your personalized Amritsar itinerary using our Amritsar trip generator.

Jai mata di
Highly recommended as the third most important sight to see in Amritsar, after the Golden Temple and Wagah border ceremony (OK, maybe the fourth, after the Jallianwala Bagh). Whatever its spiritual qualities, its main attraction is its labyrinthine layout, kind of like a holy fun house that you have to twist, turn, crawl, wade and climb through, past various shrines, statues, lingams, decorated rooms and mirrored halls - at one point entering a giant lion's mouth, and at another emerging from a crocodile.
One of my favorite Temple in Amritsar.
