  • Its a temple known for having a replica of Vaishno Devi Shrine. It is popular among tourists...5 to 10 street eating stalls and tasty quick bite available.... One may face huge rush during festivals especially during navratras. It was set up by a God Woman Mata Lal Devi...although she is no longer alive...presently being run by a trust. Shivaji Park, just opposite to temple is also good place to spend a winter can meet charming locals in the park.
  • The temple has been cleverly designed to copy that of the famous Vaishnav Devi temple. The temple stairs have been looped to make the path longer. The alleys have been beautifully decorated with glass art and most of the Idols of gods have been copied from the original art from like badrinath ,kedarnath, Buddha, Vaishnav Devi, Lord Jagganath of Puri. The Temple also provides langar which is free food for pilgrims which is a rare among Hindu temples now a days. The process of using devotion money to provide food to pilgrims is the best way to use funds. A very interesting place indeed.

Where to stay in Amritsar

The area of Amritsar that surrounds the Golden Temple can be an entertaining, enriching, and chaotic place to stay. A number of budget and mid-range hotels and hostels sit on the narrow streets here, providing decent rooms and some shared lodgings for pilgrims and tourists alike. The more upmarket and spacious options largely lie to the north. Hall Road offers plenty of hotels and hostels, while the most luxurious options sit to the north of the train station, primarily along Queens Road.
