  • just too many people at the falls are destroying it. we visited it enroute goa and found it beautiful but having so many people that it would drown under its own weight. if something is not done soon,...  more »
  • This waterfall is on the way towards Goa on the route of Kolhapur-Ajara-Sawantwadi. However, this place you can visit only in the monsoon season. This is the must visit place if you are nature freak. ...  more »
  • The waterfall of Amboli is sensational and high levels, the water falls in falls herab...ein visit with my Indian family was a highlight of my trip to India. You can climb up the stairs, but klitschnass but there are warm temperatures there and it makes a lot of fun for children and adults.

  • It took us 2 hours to reach amboli waterfall from Gadhinglaj taluka (Maharashtra). During rainy season its beautiful and breathtaking. Its beside a state highway which is headed for Goa or sindhudurg. Advantages: 1. Good for photography 2. Nice enjoyable place for family and friends. 3. Crowded during rainy season Limitations: 1. Its size is restrained to a small area near state highway. 2. Might be Inconvenient for the persons who hate liquor ( u know what i mean :-)
  • This waterfall is located 3 KM before Amboli on Goa to Belgaum state highway. Before the main waterfall you can see lots of small waterfalls which are also equally scenic in Monsoon. We visited this place in Monsoon and this waterfall was at its best. Steps are constructed beside the waterfalls so it can be accessible till the top. The water was crystal clear and good number of people were playing underneath it. Visit it early in the morning to avoid the crowd and get some good snaps. Visit this place in rainy season, the waterfall remains till the December but after the rainy season the stream becomes smaller. Number of small restaurants are there opposite waterfall, enjoy the chai, Kanda Bhajji and Vada Pao there.
  • Best place to visit in rainy season.. the climate and beauty is wonderful. one of the famous hill station in western ghat. so many places to see around
  • Awesome weather Awesome place 80kms from goa.
  • Amboli is a hill station in south Maharashtra, India. At an altitude of 690 m it is the last hill station before the coastal highlands of Goa and a relatively unexplored one. Amboli lies in the Sahayadri Hills of Western India, one of the world's "Eco Hot-Spots" and it therefore abounds in a variety of fairly unusual flora and fauna. However, as in the other parts of the Sahaydri Hills, denudation of the forest cover and unregulated government assisted "development" (read "hotels, resorts & highways") are gradually ruining a once pristine environment. Historically, Amboli village came into being as one of the staging posts along the road from Vengurla port to the city of Belgaum, which was extensively used by the British to supply their garrisons in south and central India.
