Escape from Mumbai's chaos on a ferry to Alibag Beach, a popular social gathering place with abundant eating options. When tide is low, you can explore the foot of the Kolaba fort, while high tide provides optimal swimming conditions. Build sand castles, play cricket, or just stroll around the clean coastline, dipping your feet in the shallows against a background of cypress and coconut trees. Other activities on site include horse-drawn cart and camel rides, as well as various boating options. A good place for family and friends, the beach lies 1 km (0.6 mi) from the public bus station. • The beach is not very great, but good enough for someone to spend one day. They have few water sports to offer! Ride from beach to Fort (on baggi) was exciting.
  • Beach is very okay , there is a fort tht can be seen by taking a baggie ( horse cart) , nothing great if you compare to beaches at Goa( wrt domestic beach)
  • Reaching there is big hurdle. with pathetic road condition... very narrow roads. Beach is not clean.
  • Relatively clean and fun beach to visit. The presence of a Fort in the sea within walkable distance adds an unique attraction of its own. A nice one day hangout place. Try Kanakeshwar Temple (15 Km) or Birla Mandir (22 Km) if you have some more time.
  • Pros - Relatively quiet beach, proximity to Pune or Mumbai is good - a day trip is sufficient, relatively cleaner as compared some more touristy beaches of Goa. Good for walks and relaxing time at the beach. Cons - Apart from the beach and fort there isn't much around, not a sandy beach.
  • Wats.kilomita
  • Good Place to visit (Beach and Fort).. Prefer walk during low tide but during high tide prefer boat don't try to go by walk you may not be able to predict the actual depth.. Within 1 hour only water level can rise up to 4-5 feet from ground level.. So return before hide tide or prefer boat during hide tide. We get in fort at 7:30 am during low tide, there was no water at all so we walked in, we left fort at 8:30 am till that time water level was increased upto 4-5feet, in those heavy waves it's very risky to walk through sea towards beach so prefer boat
  • Very dirty beach.... And usually cos of low tides water level goes too down leaving a messy beach behind. Also the quality of water here is too bad.
