  • We had little time in hand, so we went to see this museum. Its nice but too small. Has some interesting things to see, like a small house made of coconut products. Will take a tour of just 30 minutes to see entire museum. We went to the museum in afternoon and it was absolutely empty except for a watchman, ticket seller and three or four staff members. The museum is good. Lot of information on history of coir and development of coir machinery over time. They have a souvenir shop of items made from coir which are little over priced. They also have a big coir factory on the backside which they said was closed due to holiday. Over all , it was an average experience since we don't have anything much to do in Alleppey apart from the backwaters.
  • I had visited the place 2 years ago and it was vibrant and well maintained, was disappointed during a recent visit. It looks neglected now. The shop containing coir artefacts is barely stocked and the staff seem disinterested.
  • A must-see! Brilliant works in coir. Well explained history of the start of coir industry in Alleppey. They most definitely close at 5 sharp, make it in and out by then!
  • In Kerala one of the major revenue is coir products.... In this museum the creativity and workmanship is displayed which proves the above and the takes the visitors into promotion of the same... It's run by government and photography is allowed inside.... Don't miss to visit this place, if you go to alleppy.....
  • Nice Museum
