  • You can how the coir is used for so many purposes. Wonderful to see people actually working. Bought gift items for friends and family which were very beautiful and reasonably priced. Our driver took us here as we had time to kill on way to airport. It was very interesting seeing all the different things made from coconut fibre. There was a small shop but they didn't have a wide range of items
  • Recommend this place to visit. One person will give you a tour of museum and explain you everything. The hard work and things made out of coconut waste will amaze you. You can see the workshop as well. There is a small souvenir shop. The students learning there have made few beautiful pieces. The museum will come on the way to Marari beach. The work should be promoted as by using products made out of coir we can reduce the usage of wood and can avoid cutting trees.
  • Pretty amazed by the verity of Coir products. Museum was got 5 big halls filled with different show pieces. Help us to understand the different stages of processing, right from plucking the coconut through making into Coir fibre. Machinery used from older days to the latest electrical once are displayed. It also got a souvenir shop, where we can buy Coir mats, ornaments made by fibre, miniature of house boat, kadhakali etc.
  • The museum portrays the history of Coir production and it's products. You'll find ancient manually operated machines that were used for weaving coir mattress and mats etc. It's a good place to get some knowledge about the history of coir in India. There is a small shop as well, where you can buy coir paintings, mattress, mats, coir slippers and other fancy decorative items for your home/office. Usually 2 hours will be enough for visiting this place. Tickets are reasonable, 20 rupees per head, 50 rupees for Camera.
  • Very unique place. Worth a visit at least once. Very well maintained place. The staff is very cooperative and always ready to explain any point in museum
