  • Powerful Goddess, lakhs of devotees visits frequently. Parking and lack of good vegetarian hotels are the key issues. During summer time the concrete blocks paved around temple become too hot and its very difficult to walk and visit other sub temples in same compound for whom barefooted, one of bad decision from the trust.
  • A peaceful place and was very silent had toilet facility................ no good hotels or restaurants were available nearby ........it was clean and maintained ........ There is a counter at the right side of the entrance for any kinds of prayers.......
  • Chakkulath Kavu is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. The Temple is located on the banks of Holy Pampa River in Neerattupuram, Thalavady panchayath in Alappuzha Dist, Kerala, India. Pilgrims from all over south India visit this Temple to workship the Devi. The major festival is the "Pongala" which takes place in the Temple during the month of Vrischikam ( November/December ) Lacks of women devotees gather around the Temple for the "PONGALA". Panthrandu noyampu, Naree pooja are the other festivals celebrated at this Temple.
  • The Temple is in Alapuzha district. The temple is open to people of all faiths and attracts believers from across the State. The Mother Goddess Durga is worshipped here. The famous rivers Pamba and Manimala flow on both sides of the temple. Chakkulathukavu Pongala is the most famous festival of the temple. It falls on the Malayalam month of Vrischikam (November/ December) and is a grand affair.  'Pongala nivedayam' is a sweet dish that is considered a favorite of the Goddess and women flock in large numbers to the temple to offer the same.  Besides the Pongala, other festivals are ''Naree Pooja'', 'First Friday' (fasting on every first Friday of the month), and ''Thrikkarthika ''.
  • Very calm and quiet temple except for ponkala. No good vegetarian restaurants nearby. So if one visit this temple with kids please carry food items and water.
