  • One of the lesser known museums in India, this one is an amazing gem of a place; especially if you have an interest in military history, fighting machines or big guns! The museum normally has just a few people walking through the exhibits and most visitors seem to rush through the lines of tanks and armored vehicles, without understanding their significance. The museum is the only one of its kind in India and possibly the only one in Asia too! You can see the evolution of armored vehicles, starting with the Silver Ghost Rolls-Royce Armoured Car from World War I. WW2 era machines such as the British Valentine, Japanese Type 95 Ha-Go and Type 97 Chi-Ha, Sherman Crab flail tank, American M47 Patton, British Centurion Mark II and the unique German Schwerer PanzerspƤhwagen armored car. There are also the post independence Indian battle machines such as the superb Indian Vijayanta MBT, T-72 and various soviet models. There are also a few captured Pakistani tanks brought back as souvenirs. If you are visiting Ahmednagar or driving through, do plan a visit to this amazing place.
