Admire elaborate ornaments of Swaminarayan Mandir, the first and most important Swaminayaran Hindu temple located in the heart of the city. Built in 1822 during the British imperial administration and supervised by the guru himself, the temple features an ornate white fa├žade with orange linings. The building houses intricate carving in pure Burmese teakwood and beautifully dressed images of gods. Adorned with typical Gujarati designs depicting different aspects of local culture, the pavilions in the temple have a number of galleries and pavilions. Enjoy a stroll along a canopied perimeter and relax to the tune of a musical fountain.
