  • Its a place of great importance as Mahatma Gandhi initiated many independence activities here. It should be well maintained. The are gallery is very good, well taken care of, but the ground and parking space is very haphazardly and visitors park their vehicles randomly. Many foreign visitors come here which would present a false image of our mentality about caring such important place of our National father. Overall place is great, you could have great insights into the life of Mahatma Gandhi. And behind the ashram there's Sabarmati river which is an addition to the place.
  • Very peaceful place! Displays many major events took place during freedom fight. Also has collection of different types of spinning wheel. One side of the Ashram is facing sabarmati river which makes place tranquil during morning and evening. Architectural history of this place is also worth knowing and explains the simplicity of this place. Overall, a heritage place, worth visit.
  • Great experience, really great place to get kid's and if you want to know more about Gandhi ji, great place to know our history and India's history. Lot of students were studying here. Very calm and quiet place. Amazing atmosphere with a lot of positive energy all around. Please feel free to ask anything specific.
  • This place is just amazing... It has such a calming effect... All your stress just melts away... On the surface it seems very limited and simple but given time it will settle into you.. my wife said she felt like a million bucks just by walking around the place once... It has a detailed history of Gandhi in relation to the ashram and apart from a nice collection of charkhas... Also a sort of learning centre which imparts life wisdom... I must say I was impressed.. there were a bunch of kids around simply having fun as well... And they have a fair share of squirrels as well... A must visit for family and friends
  • Good place to visit. Must have 1-2 hrs in hand to enjoy the experience. Need to take out shoes at a couple of places to enter the house. So wear easily removable and wearable footwear.
