  • Hutheesing Jain Temple, Ahmedabad is an architectural marvel. Standing right in middle of the Ahmedabad City, it has remarkable carvings and must visit for an Architectural enthusiast. This Jain Temple has historical significance in terms of art and architecture. The front is exquisitely ornamented by a 'dome' shaped structure. The temple has a unique Manastambha (or column of honour) inspired by the Jain Manastambha and the Kirtistambha at Chittore in Rajasthan. It was built in 1848 A.D. at an by a rich merchant Sheth Hutheesing as a dedication to Jain tirthankar, Shri Dharmanatha Bhagwan (Mul Nayak). Traditional artisans working in stone belonged to the Sonpura & Salat communities. The Salat community constructed masterpieces of architecture ranging from forts, palaces to temples. According to Gujarat Tourism, the work of the Hutheesing Jain temple is attributed to Premchand Salat. One scholar has remarked, "Each part goes on increasing in dignity as we approach the sanctuary. Whether looked at from its courts or from the outside, it possesses variety without confusion and an appropriateness of every part to the purpose for which it was intended." It has a nice Dharmashala, Museum, Library and Bhojanshala... It is a must must visit..
